Hey guys. It's Zach. I know you guys noticed that I wasn't active too much. Well, there's three reasons why: focusing more on personal stuff (doing school work and working on my YouTube channel), getting into new stuff (RWBY, Rugrats, etc.), and the subject of this blog post, noticing changes happening to the Gingo and Universal wikis made by GingoFTW. And boy did he made lots of changes recently.
Let's start off with the Universal Animation Fan Wiki-excuse me, I meant the Universal Studios Fanon Wiki. Aside from the name change there has been a rise of content in the Wiki. Basically, the people in the Wiki are adding every single Universal film to the Wiki. It's not a bad thing, sure, but I consider it overkill. After all, there's another Universal wiki that exists, just without the fan content, so I see absolutely no reason for the decision to expand the Universal Animation Fan Wiki into the biggest Universal database if there already exists one.
Finally, let's talk about the Gingo Wiki. Basically Gabriel Garcia just retconned the Gingo brand; the Gingo brand exists as a TV channel, with Gingo Animation just being the company that creates TV shows for the channel. Gabriel also had the idea to make a conglomerate, nicknamed Multimedia, and bascially making Gingo the television animation unit of Multimedia Entertainment. Needless to say, I was very confused. I asked Garcia what was happening to the Gingo brand, hoping to get a response on why these changes to the Gingo brand is happening. But there was no response.
Ok, time to get to the meat of this blog post...
I'm not going to be as active in the two wikis as much anymore.
Yep, that's right. These changes to both Gingo and Universal Animation wikis changed my way if I should be active in any of them. I know it sounds like a stupid reason why I'm leaving but it's just made me confused.
So...what now?
I'll tell you what. I'll be working in other Wikis, and I'm thinking of making a Wiki of my own, since I have a fictional animation studio planned. Also, I'll be making videos for my YouTube channel yadda yadda yadda.
Besides anything I've said, at least I can say I appreciated spending time contributing for both Gingo and Universal Fanon wikis. It has been a plessure working with all you guys, and I hope the future is bright for the two wikis. I'll still be checking Wiki Activity, maybe edit occasionally. Heck, maybe I could return and start going all out in the future! But for now, I'm going to work for other Wikis.
